The Story of Raja and Rani

This year my parents completed 40 years of blessed married life. It was a joyous occasion for all of us and we daughters (three of us) decided to celebrate this with a surprise party. We invited the family and friends and had a pleasant evening filled with lots of memories and fun!

One of the thoughts was to have my parents relive their life stories through movie posters. This turned out to be a fun project as we got to pore over years of memories. We took help of a designer and the result was just amazing.

Leading upto the party, we decided to write a poem and dedicate that to our parents. We also hit upon the idea that it would be wonderful if the children recited the poem in a video dedication. Look at the children recite and mime the poem for their grandparents....

During the party itself, I noticed that Yash had no fear of the stage. He was eager to hold the mic and make announcements. One could even say that he was hogging the mic (which might have been a bit irritating to others, but was pure joy for me, a compulsive mic hogger ;) )

The story of Raja and Rani is rather cute. We came across these endearing names that my parents have for each other some years ago, as we sisters chanced upon one of their letters. My mom, who has Rani in her name, came to be the queen of hearts and every queen needs a king and so my dad, became the Raja. Absolutely adorable!

Their love is of eternal bond. They perfectly complement each other. While one is a fiery perfectionist, the other is the epitome of calm and peace. Their combination has taught us many lessons in life and made us daughters who we are today. May this love shine on brightly, lighting the lives of all those it touches.

The cousins!
